The oldest cafe in De Pijp, and you can feel it. At Gijs you are a stranger until you walk in and say hello. 42 taps, spontaneously fermented beers in the fridge, and mostly just: people talking to each other. Ideal for a group that does not want a function room, but a proper pub.
Cafe Gijs sits on the Ceintuurbaan, next to the Kabouterhuis, within walking distance of the Albert Cuyp market and Sarphatipark. It is a traditional Dutch craft beer cafe in the most literal sense: dark wood, plenty of beer, no fuss.
With 42 taps and a fridge full of lambics and spontaneously fermented beers, this is the place for a tasting or a birthday where nobody is watching the clock. Groups of up to forty can have the back room; for larger groups we rent out the whole venue.
