The character of this venue
In den Uiver is the classic traditional Dutch pub with a craft-beer heart: over forty rotating beers on tap, a warm welcome, and a crowd that is half regulars, half newcomers. Pub quiz on Thursdays, and regular tap takeovers by breweries.
On the Lange Begijnestraat, right across from the Toneelschuur theatre and the Philharmonie, you will find Bierlokaal In den Uiver. It is an independent beer cafe in the Haarlem tradition: high ceilings, dark wood, and a tap wall that changes every week.
There is room for 75 to 100 guests inside, plus a small terrace out front. For groups, we are happy to put together our own programme: a tasting with the brewer, a private pub quiz with our own quizmaster, or just a long evening with an open tab.
